Petite Sculpture

The Petite Amour Sculpture series is a reference to the feminine duality in contemporary society. The small figures depict a women's twofold nature; the metal rigidity combined with the softer couture styling reflects this polarity. In addition, the allusion to armour or armor, gives a reference to the Middle Ages. The 12th and 13th was a period in time when women were depicted in body armor. Patriarchal societies in both the Middle Ages and Contemporary culture portray images of female warriors in armor. The Petite Amour Sculpture figures recall the necessity for women to employ their dual nature to restore balance during times of great conflict.
